So, I had a volleyball tournament in Jacksonville this weekend, and although I have been there plenty of times, I have never been that impressed with it as a place to visit (besides for a Jacksonville Jaguars/Cleveland Browns showdown). But, since I was stuck in a hotel room alone in between games, I picked up the local entertainment guide and there were TONS of places off the beaten path that I want to try! They have pages and pages of places to eat (many with an old-school approach to seafood), tons of live music places, a few microbrews, and a surprising number of wine tasting spots! I have only ever really walked around downtown on the water, and I wasn't really impressed with the crowd or atmosphere. But I think the other areas of Jacksonville look pretty cool. Anyone been who has any recommendations?
